How to download and read your Etsy monthly statement

Etsy’s monthly statement is the most complete record of your shop’s money: every sale, fee, refund, tax line and deposit. Here is how to get the CSV version and make sense of it.

Download the CSV

  1. On Etsy.com, open Shop Manager.
  2. Go to Finances → Monthly statements.
  3. Pick the year and month, then choose Download CSV (Etsy may email you a link when the file is ready).

Etsy describes the statement and payment account in Etsy Help: How to Manage Your Payment Account and Etsy Help: How to Calculate Your Etsy Payments Deposit Amount.

What the rows mean

Each row has a type. The common ones are Sale (an order), Fee (listing, transaction, processing, regulatory), Marketing (Etsy Ads, Offsite Ads), Tax (sales tax/VAT collected for the government), Refund, Shipping (labels you bought) and Deposit (money sent to your bank). Each row shows an amount, any fees, and a net figure.

Why spreadsheets get confusing

One order produces several rows (the sale, its transaction fee, its processing fee, sometimes tax and an ad fee), and deposits are lump sums. Adding up the "Net" column gives a total, but not which products or fees drove it.

Turn it into a report in a few seconds

Drop the CSV into PayoutPeek. It runs entirely in your browser (no upload, no Etsy login) and shows what buyers paid, the tax that passed through, refunds, each fee type, your take-home, what made up each deposit, and profit per product once you add your costs. Try it with the sample statement first.
