How Etsy deposits work
Money from your Etsy sales doesn’t go straight to your bank. It goes into your Etsy Payment account first, fees are taken out there, and Etsy then deposits what is available on your schedule. Here is how each step works.
1. Sales land in your Payment account
When an order is paid through Etsy Payments, the funds go to your Payment account. Etsy fees, ads and refunds are deducted from that same account. Source: Etsy Help: How to Manage Your Payment Account.
2. Current vs. pending balance
Your current balance is what’s eligible to be deposited. Your pending balance includes recent sales that are still processing and any money held in a reserve. Source: Etsy Help: How to Manage Your Payment Account.
3. Your deposit schedule
Etsy deposits your available balance on the schedule you choose: daily, weekly, every two weeks or monthly. Source: Etsy Help: How to Manage Your Payment Account.
4. New-seller waiting periods
Newer sellers may wait up to 14 days after a sale before those funds can be deposited, while established shops can receive funds sooner. Source: Etsy Help: Why Hasn’t My Money Been Deposited Yet?.
5. Reserves
Etsy may place a reserve on a shop, holding a percentage of sales as pending. For physical items, reserved funds are typically released once valid tracking shows the order shipped, or after the holding period shown in your account. Source: Etsy Help: What is a Payment Account Reserve?.
6. Why one deposit doesn’t match one week of sales
A deposit is the available balance on deposit day: sales that cleared, minus fees, ads, refunds and anything still held. That’s why it rarely equals the sales you saw in the same period. Etsy explains the calculation in Etsy Help: How to Calculate Your Etsy Payments Deposit Amount. PayoutPeek’s deposit breakdown lists the activity between one deposit and the next from your monthly statement CSV.

Why is my Etsy money pending?
