Etsy fee changes in 2026: what changed and what it costs now

Etsy’s headline US selling fees are the same familiar numbers in 2026, but several things around them changed: regulatory operating fees in seven countries, how fees move through your Payment account, and what shipping labels cost. Here is each change with Etsy’s own source.

The current core US fees

As of October 2026, Etsy’s pages list: a $0.20 listing fee, a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price, shipping and gift wrap, payment processing of 3% + $0.25 for US sellers, Offsite Ads at 15% (or 12% for shops with more than $10,000 in the past 12 months) capped at $100 per order, and a 2.5% currency conversion fee if you list in a different currency from your Payment account (source, source, source). Etsy’s Fees & Payments Policy shows a last-updated date of October 5, 2026, so check it for anything newer than this page.

Regulatory operating fee changes from June 22, 2026

Etsy announced new regulatory operating fee rates for sellers in several countries starting June 22, 2026 (source):

Seller countryBeforeFrom June 22, 2026

Hungarynone1.97% (new)
India0.29%0.05%
Italy0.32%0.80%
Spain0.72%0.88%
Türkiye2.27%1.67%
United Kingdom0.32%0.48%

Canada (0.50%) and Vietnam (1.24%) are also on Etsy’s current list. The fee is charged on the item price plus shipping and gift wrap, and VAT can apply on top where relevant. US sellers don’t pay it (source).

Fees now stay with the sale in your Payment account

Etsy changed how fees move through the Payment account, which now shows Current, Pending and Total balances. Fees tied to a sale (transaction, processing, regulatory operating, Offsite Ads and VAT on those fees) now stay in Pending with that sale and move to Current together with its earnings. Fees not tied to a sale (Etsy Ads, shipping labels, listing and renewal fees, subscriptions) come out of Current when they are charged (source, source).

Two practical effects: your Current balance can go negative while sales are still pending, and deposits are based on Current, not Total. If Total is negative at the end of the month, you get a bill on the 1st (source). See how Etsy deposits work.

Shipping labels cost more for now

Etsy’s USPS labels page notes a temporary 8% USPS price increase from April 26 on Priority Mail, Priority Mail Express, Ground Advantage and Parcel Select, expected to last until January 17, 2027. It also says that since July 1, 2026, USPS and Canada Post labels on Etsy aren’t available for certain EU destinations, with Global Postal Shipping still available (source). If your shipping prices haven’t moved since spring, check them: see Etsy shipping labels and profit.

How to check what you actually paid

Your monthly statement CSV lists every fee as its own row, including regulatory operating fees, Offsite Ads and label costs. Add them up for a month and compare with sales to get your real fee percentage. PayoutPeek does that for you from the CSV.

Common questions

Did Etsy raise its fees in 2026?

For US sellers, Etsy’s published core fees in October 2026 are $0.20 per listing, 6.5% transaction and 3% + $0.25 processing. The 2026 fee changes Etsy announced were regulatory operating fee rates for sellers in France, Hungary, India, Italy, Spain, Türkiye and the UK from June 22, 2026.

What is the Etsy regulatory operating fee in the UK?

From June 22, 2026 it is 0.48% for UK sellers, up from 0.32%, charged on the item price plus shipping and gift wrap.

Why is my Etsy Current balance negative?

Since Etsy’s Payment account change, fees not tied to a sale, like Etsy Ads, labels and listing fees, come out of Current right away, while sales and their fees can still be in Pending. Pending earnings cover the negative amount when they clear.
